List of National Medical Entrance Exams after 12th Biology
We had divided this article into 2 different sub article . This article consists of the details of State Level Medical Exams while other article with the same sub-name contains details of National Level Medical Exams after 12th class biology. Let’s go through each article one by one:
National Level Medical Exams:
In this portion, we are going to discuss about those medical exams which are conducted on the national level or we can say that All India Admission Basis. Let’s go through all National Level Medical Exams one by one;
a) NEET UG: NEET UG is referred to as the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates. This test is conducted for the Undergraduates to take part in the admission of courses like MBBS, Dental Courses(BDS) or Postgraduate course (MD/MS) in govt. or private medical colleges. This test is conducted by the CBSE . Before NEET, AIPMT & diff. MBA exams were conducted by the Boards to take part in Medical Colleges courses. But, Now NEET UG is the only exam which is used to take admission in these type of courses. Around 56000 seats are offered by NEET UG Exam on the basis of All India Level. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana is the only state who don’t take part in this Medical Exam.
If we take a look of NEET UG 2017 Exam, Govt. declared a Notification according to which there would be only 1 exam for admission to MBBS/BDS across the country. It is mandatory for every govt. college to fill 15% of total seats to be filled by NEET 2017 only. Below, we are giving a details of other Medical Entrance Exams which would be considered for other medical programs expect MBBS/BDS/PG.
b) AIPMT-CBSE: AIPMT is referred as the All India Pre Medical Test. This exam is also conducted by the CBSE. Main motive behind this test was to make Medical education available to all region of India at Single Level. As said earlier, NEET-UG had replaced this test too.
c) AIIMS: AIIMS is referred as the All India Institue of Medical Sciences, Delhi. AIIMS is a Medical University which was established in 1956. Right Now, There are 7 AIIMS sponsored by Delhi Head office which have total no. of seats are 672& 8 AIIMS Sponsored by the other. AIIMS covers around 43 different disciplines which are undergraduate courses as well as Post Graduate courses. Duration of courses are varies from 2 years to 5.5. years. Notification for Exam of AIIMS-2017 has been released & 23 Feb,2017 was last date to fill AIIMS exam form.
d) AMU-CET Aligrah MBBS: I hope, You all aware about the AMU which is most popular university for MBBS i.e; Aligrah Muslim University. As its name states, this university is located in Aligrah & founded by Madrasatul Uloom Musalmanan-e-Hind in 1875. AMU offers more than 300 courses in their campus & spreads over 467.6 hectares. However, AMU-CET is too replaced by NEET-UG Exam. Now, AMU will not conduct an exam for admission to MBBS/BDS. However, All medical aspirants who wanted to take admission in AMU Campus, they have to register one time on their official link. Official link for one time registration will be available from April/May 2017.
e) IPU-CET Delhi MBBS: IPU CET referred as Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test. This exam is taken by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha university
to take admission in medical discipline for UG & PG courses. This exam is also replaced by NEET for MBBS admission. However, Students have to fill one time form to take admission in IPU Medical colleges; link is valid till 24th March.
f) DU MBBS: DU MBBS is referred as the Delhi University MBBS Exam form. This exam has been also replaced by the NEET UG. Admissions for MBBS/BDS in Govt., Private or Deemed universities across Delhi will be done through NEET 2017 Score. There will be no separate exam for admission in MBBS or BDS courses. However, you have to register online on the official website of Delhi University MBBS. Expected date of release of Application form would be in April, 2017. We’ll update you same.
g) CENTAC: CENTAC stands for Central Admission committee. CENTAC exam is taken by the Puducherry authority to give admission to various UG programs in the Medical field as well as Engg. Field colleges of Puducherry & other U.T. This exam is not replaceable by the NEET. Previously, this exam was called as CENTAC JET. Candidates who wanted to take admission in M.TECH, M.Sc. or other courses in UT colleges are welcomed through this exam. Expected that CENTAC Exam form would be out in 2nd week of June,2017.
h) CMC Vellore: CMC stands for Christian Medical College & hospital. This medical college is situated in Vellore & counted under top medical colleges of India. Various records in medical history are named to this college; like first open hurt surgery, first Kidney Transplant. If you are excited to join this college to complete your medical study, you are welcomed through NEET UG Exam. CMC Vellore exam is too replaced by the NEET UG Exam. After clearing this exam, CMC will take an aptitude test & rest of the information is available on their official site. CMC, Vellore offers many different Undergraduate, Diploma, M.Sc. courses like MBBS, B.Sc., Nursing, fellowship courses etc.
i) JIPMER-Puducherry: JIPMER stands for Jawaharlal Institue of Postrgaduate medical Education & Research. This college is one of the oldest medical college in India who started teaching European medicine in Asia. At JIPMER, any kind of facilities are available like inexpensive medical care, medical training for undergraduate as well as post graduate courses. JIPMER is famous for the MBBS courses. If you want to take admission in this prestigious college, you have to fill their exam Form. Online application form for JIPMER-2017 will be out on 27 Mar, 2017. We’ll update you for the same.
j) BVP CET: We all know BVP stands for Bharti Vidyapeeth University and it is recognised as one of the top deemed universities. Every year BVP conducts their own entrance exam for admission into various undergraduate & postgraduate colleges. BVP offers many medical courses like pharmacy, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Nursing, M. Pharma etc. Below is the BVP schedule for CET application form for various courses. Rows are arranged as entrance exams, Date of exam, Application form last date, Result date as well as counselling date.
k) SAAT: SAAT is standing for Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University (SOA University); this is a Private deemed university in Odisha only focused on Research. There are more than 9 colleges under this university which offers many undergraduate programs in medicine, pharmacy, business, agriculture etc. SAAT will conduct exam for all undergraduate programs expect MBBS/BDS. All admission in MBBS/BDS courses will be done through NEET 2017 exam.
l) MU OET: MU OET stands for Manipal University online entrance exam. Every year, Manipal university take their own online entrance exam for admission into MBBS/BDS, ENGG., B.Pharma, MBA etc. Form for MU OET 2017 was released in Nov, 2016 & 1 March, 2017 is the last date to fill the application form to book seats for the online entrance test. Manipal University campuses spread in many areas of India like Banglore, Mangalore, Sikkim & Jaipur including Manipal. Many of the students came from foreign countries to study in this university.
m) KIITEE: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is famously known as the KIITEE; it is one of the top anonymous university located at Patia which is a small state of Odisha. KIIT is one of the top 30 colleges in India who offers undergraduate & postgraduate courses in medical. KIIT had started to take application form for admission in medical & non-medical streams. n) GPAT: Candidates who aspire to do Pharmacy have to give this test. GPAT stands for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude test. Admissions in M.Pharma courses are done by this & all examination is supervised by AICTE( All India Council of Technical Education).
o) AIIMS Nursing: AIIMS conduct a separate test for all those who aspire to become Nurses. AIIMS offer 3 different courses in Nursing stream i;e; B.Sc. ( honors & post basis) , M.Sc. Notification for AIIMS Nursing from is released in 2nd week of March.
p) NEET PG: As already told you about NEET UG exam which is used for admission into MBBS/BDS Courses. Similarly, there is one more exam ( NEET PG) for Postgraduate courses like MD/MS & postgraduate Diplomas. This entrance exam was started in 2012 but faces lot of negative criticism due to its news test pattern. Nowadays, exam pattern is changed & exam is going smoothly for admission into PG courses. This score is acceptable all over India.
q) KLEU AIET: I hope, you all aware about the KLE university which is situated in Karnataka. This university offers many of the medical discipline courses like BAMS, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, BPT, B.Sc Nursing.
They conduct their own entrance test & most likely, notification is released in 2nd week of May,2017.
r) AIIMS PG: As like NEET, AIIMS also conduct separate entrance exam for admission into Postgraduate courses. AIIMS offers approx. 180 seats in MD/MS programs of
clinical science & conduct entrance exam for postgraduates; 2 times every year. Most likely, notification for admission into 2017 batch will be come out in first week of March.
s) AIPGDEE: AIPGDEE stands for All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Examination & conducted by AIIMS Delhi for admission into 3 years full-time Master of Dental Surgery Programs. This score is valid for 50% of seats in medical colleges across India expect Andhra Pradesh & J&K. Notification for AIPGDEE released in 2nd week of October & total exam process takes 3-4 months.
t) AIPGMEE: If you want to take higher medical studies, then this entrance exam is for you. Admission for 50 % of total seats in All India Govt. & private colleges for
M.S & M.D Diploma courses are done through this exam condition being you had already done MBBS from a reputed university. Most likely, Notification for AIPGMEE is released in the month of September.
u) DNB CET-SS: This entrance exam is for those who want to take special courses in Medical field. This exam is regulated by NBE (National Board of Examinations)
and the score is valid all over India for admission into speciality courses into the medical field. Notification for entrance exam of DNB CET-SS is released in the month of October.
v) FMGE: FMGE Stands for Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Exam & this exam is too regulated by the NBE. Students who are doing their medical studies in abroad but
want to get certified by the Medical Council of India have to appear in this exam. Notification for FMGE Entrance exam released most likely twice in the year & exam held in June & December.
w) PUCET: PUCET entrance exam is referred for Punjab university common entrance test. There are many universities in Punjab & other states of India who offers Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), B.Pharmacy and B.Sc. (Hons.) courses. So, this exam is like an opportunity for those students who want to get admission in these type of courses. A score of PUCET is valid in all over India.
x) AFMC MBBS: AFMC entrance exam is for the students who want to take admission in Armed Forces Medical college which is situated in Pune. This college offers many special courses like Anesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis & Imaging etc. NEET UG score is valid to take admission in this college.
y) MGIMS-WARDHA– MGIMS stands for Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Science & this is the first rural medical college which is situated in the village of Maharashtra. Whole college & entrance exam system is managed by the Kasturba Health society. Notification for entrance exam of MGIMS-Wardha college is released in the first week of March.
z) COMEDK UGET- Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental of Karnataka is full form of COMEDK UGET. Entrance exam of this college is scrapped by NEET UG. You have to fill the online application form on their official website. There will be no separate entrance exam.
